Diameter at breast height (DBH) is a standard measurement for the size of a tree. If your tree measures 47 cm or less around its trunk (its circumference) at 137 cm above ground level, then the tree is considered to be less than 15 cm DBH (width) and you do not need to complete this permit application to remove it.
If the tree removal is part of a development application (such as for pools, landscaping or other property construction projects) you must provide an arborist report.
A tree might be identified as a high safety risk if there is potential for the tree (or part of the tree) to cause serious injury or damage to people or property (but that this potential is not imminent). A high safety risk tree must be identified by an arborist.
If the tree is on a shared property line, you must have a letter of consent from the other property owner at the site visit.
